FOTD -- April 18, 2011 (Rating 4) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's image rates a 4. But this is on the new scale. On the old scale it would rate a respectable 6. The name "Belief in the Outcome" means whatever the fractal fan wishes. The actual image shows a minibrot rather deep in the parent fractal that results when the formula Z^(1.75)+C is iterated just one level down the logarithmic ladder. This parent fractal is a lopsided thing squashed on the X-axis, with one large mis-shaped bud on the north side and two buds on the south side. Today's scene is located in a kind of East Valley of an out-of-place but large minibrot just inland of the northeast shore line of the main bay. The calculation time of 8-1/2 minutes is admittedly more than the image is worth. After Saturday's downpour, Sunday's scattered heavy clouds seemed fair indeed here at Fractal Central. The temperature of 59F 15C was spoiled by a strong wind however, which made it feel quite chilly in the open. The fractal cats chased the sun during the times it was out, and slept when the clouds moved in. The humans took it easy most all day. The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours.
