FOTD -- December 15, 2008 (No Rating) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's fractal is another one found so hastily that I could give it no rating. It's actually a scene in the fractal that results when the Z^2+C Mandelbrot set is starting to change into the Z^(-15)+C Mandeloid. In this case the minute real(p2) parameter of 0.000000001 makes a world of difference. I'll not try to describe the parent fractal, which is very easy to calculate. But I will say that today's image is found in some new detail that has appeared some distance east of East Valley of the M-set. The name "Emergency Valley" was supposed to be "Emergent Valley", but when I typed 'emergency' by mistake, I thought it a serendipitous error, and kept the mistake. I had little time to work with the colors, which obviously could be improved quite a bit. The calculation time of a blessedly brief 48 seconds is just what the doctor ordered.
