Here's one of those distorted midgets that have been discussed recently. I'd like to rotate something like this, to make the midget lie in the east/west direction. I'm sure I've seen a "rotate" command many times, but every time I want to use it, it seems to go into hiding. Am I dreaming, or is this readily achievable? Holding <Ctrl> and pressing the numeric keypad's + or - keys rotates the zoom box. Moving the mouse left or right while holding the right button down performs the same function. If you accidentally change your zoom box shape or rotate and forget which way is up, just use <PageDown> to make it bigger until it disappears, then <PageUp> to get a fresh one. With a mouse, after removing the old zoom box from the display release and re-press the left button for a fresh one. overpass2 { ; (c) Paul N. Thanks Bill and Paul for the enlightenment! I've wondered about this one for a long time! John W. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Wilson" <juanw@telus.net> To: <fractint@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Thursday, November 27, 2003 6:08 PM Subject: [Fractint] Rotating an image?

John, One more thing: Generate (or load) Paul Lee's image. When it's complete, go to the X-Screen and change the maxiter to 1500, press <Enter> and watch what happens! Lee
Wow! I'm impressed...that's a nice fractal with some color schemes. So the original distortion was introduced by too few iterations? I'm learning...slowly!!! Thank you. Yes, but the cool transformation of the image you witnessed only works when logmap=0, otherwise the fractal starts over from scratch. Lee
