Here's another [hi-res fractal zoom animation based on a fractal by] Albrecht Niekamp... Please post to the list as I still do not have access. Done. The link to JoTz's animation is in his forwarded email below.
After 400 MB of the 450 MB had downloaded, I had a "Network error" during my 1st download try... 2nd download try failed after 304 MB was downloaded... 3rd download try failed after 17 MB was downloaded... 4th try got: "This webpage is not available." 5th try got 122 MB and then failed. The network system seems to wait 4 or 5 minutes after the download stalls before it declares that the download has failed. News article pages from a variety of sources were downloading fine at the time. I'll try again tomorrow when the "inter-tubes" are more stable. - Hal Lane ######################## # hallane@earthlink.net ######################## From: LLOYD GARRICK [mailto:lgarr@colorado-hiking.net] Sent: Thursday, January 7, 2016 9:42 PM To: Hal Lane <hallane@earthlink.net> Subject: Re: FW: [Fractint] Check out this recent hi-res fractal zoom animation by JoTz Here's another Albrecht Niekamp, a recent one I think it was called "Magnetic" or something: http://www.fractal-animation.net/special/LampOfAges1024.zip The detail in this fractal is amazing. It´s unbelievable and exactly how I imagined an animation of the Universal Fractal should be !! It´s available from Cubby, using my usual link - presently still being uploaded.

The upload is finished and download tested - about 15 to 20min. Hal, suggest to download from my address and put it on your server as the cubby space is limited of course. : Albrecht ; Congratulations, Lloyd. It´s unbelievable and exactly how I imagined

I got JoTz zipped file from his link on the 1st try today -- so, as JoTz said:
...if you are having trouble downloading. The problem would be with your particular ISP.
Albrecht, No one else has reported problems downloading JoTz animation. Apparently the download problem was a problem specific to me only -- so I don't think it's necessary to have JoTz's animation also available on your or my servers. I'd say that it's probably OK to remove his animation from your Cubby server, too. Thanks for uploading it. JoTz, That's a pretty awesome zoom sequence! Albrecht, thanks for providing the great zoomable formula. I viewed the animation at 1/2 speed in VLC and found it truly mesmerizing. As I watched it I found that I unconsciously leaned forward towards my display. Also, whenever I viewed the sequence between 0:45 and a minute into the animation, I felt like I was almost going into a trance. Granted, I hadn't had a cup of coffee yet and my sinuses have been acting up, but this was quite a strong feeling. I also enjoyed stopping the animation to examine all the fractal's features in individual frames, Thanks for all the nicely arranged and sequenced pixels -- the overall effect is overwhelming! Am I correct in remembering that the slight adjustments to the frames' colors are caused by "logmap" being non-zero? <--<< - Hal Lane ######################## # hallane@earthlink.net ######################## -----Original Message----- From: Fractint [mailto:fractint-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Albrecht Niekamp Sent: Friday, January 8, 2016 4:40 AM To: fractint@mailman.xmission.com Subject: Re: [Fractint] FW: Another hi-res fractal zoom animation by JoTz - LampOfAges1024 The upload is finished and download tested - about 15 to 20min.
