FOTD -- March 10, 2014 (Rating A-8,M-5) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's image is a scene in the Z^(3.001)+C Mandeloid as it appears when rendered by the MandelbrotBC3 formula at ground level with no function applied. The scene is located very close to the negative X-axis, in a valley that is spread into a wedge. The name "Cobweb Country" describes the web-like effect of the skeletized image. This cobweb effect was achieved by rendering the scene with the logmap set to an un-necessarily large value. The art rating of an 8 reflects the success of this idea, but the math value remains at an average 5, since the math trick has grown pretty tired by this time. The calculation time of one measly minute will pass fast. The web sites can offer an even faster view. With lots of sun and a temperature of 55F 13C, today brought a pleasant preview of spring to Fractal Central. Fractal cat Nico enjoyed the afternoon sun on the shelf in the southwest window. Fractal cat Jazzie soaked up as much sun as she could find in her room where she will be confined for another week until the doctor gives her the all-clear. The fractal humans enjoyed the pleasant conditions as best they could, while tending to the other things that needed to be done. The next FOTD will be posted in the proper time. Until the time gets proper, take care, and I wonder why the need for sleep has never evolved out of the higher-order animals. It certainly would be a great survival advantage to have no need to fall unconscious for several hours every day and thereby become so unaware of nearby danger.
