Here you go! http://clanjones.org/david/albrecht/ There are links to MP3 and WAV versions. I opened the MIDI in Rosegarden (Linux audio/sequencer workstation) and used the SCC Taiko Drums Sound Font (https://www.schristiancollins.com/vi-percussion.php). I spread the 10 tracks across the stereo field (from 50% left to 50% right) like I did with Albrecht's first 3 pieces. Then I added a basic plate reverb to each track (also in Rosegarden) since my experience with Taiko drumming has been that it always reverberates from surrounding surfaces. That's always been one of my favorite parts of Taiko drumming: it fills space in complicated ways. The real way to do it would be to pick a location and apply an impulse-response file, but (1) I still haven't figured out that part and (2) only have IR files for locations like Winchester Cathedral in the UK. I don't know how to do ambisonics (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ambisonics), that would be great since it could produce a true surround sound and put the listener right inside the drumming. The full effect would also require being played back through an ambisonic audio set up, which few people have, but it would 'fold down' to traditional 'flat' stereo. When I feel rich, maybe I'll set up an 8 speaker system here in my living room. (Please send money to help me feel rich - haha, just kidding!) Albrecht - thanks for your composition. It's a great trance piece! This post brought to you by Coronado Brewing Company's Islander IPA, so please forgive any topys. ;) Enjoy! On 11/07/2017 10:12 PM, Harold Lane wrote:
