Hi everybody, I'm new in this mailing list (and I hope to use it correctly), and I have a little question with Fractint. I want to make a picture of an L-system fractal, but I need to bypass the limit size of 2048 by 2048 pixels. I try to improve the picture size in the configuration file (at the line of "image disk") but it dosen't work (software crash). Any idea ? (Split the picture in two or four parts and render it part by part ?) Thank you in advance ! (And excuse me for my english, I'm french !) What version/release level of FractInt are you running? What OS are you running under (DOS, Windows, Linux, etc.)? And if Windows, which one? What image size is your ultimate goal?
Hi, I use the latest DOS version (20.0). With my computer with windows XP, I use DOSbox 0.72 to run Fractint. On my other computer with windows 98, the same version of Fractint works fine (directly in windows). My ultimate goal is to obtain a picture with a size of about 6000 by 6000 pixels. Thank you in advance ! Benjamin

I believe that the 20.0 releases are at least 10 years old. There have been several releases since then, from 20.1.00 up through 20.4.09, which is now the latest DOS version. http://www.FractInt.org/ftp/current/dos/
My ultimate goal is to obtain a picture with a size of about 6000 by 6000 pixels.
A bit larger than I usually work with, even with disk rendering. But let me run a few tests to see what I can get accomplished with my settings and environment.
