FOTD 10-10-09 (Blues in the Dawn [6])
FOTD -- October 10, 2009 (Rating 6) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's image, with its royal blues and oranges, lies in the parent fractal that results when Z^(1.1) is subtracted from Z^(-1.1). This parent fractal is a grossly oversized thing consisting of two Mandeloids, one of them a peanut-shaped thing, the other a partially cut-off Mandelbrot set. These two large Mandeloids are connected by a stream of debris, with today's image located near the midpoint of this debris. Royal blue and orange are my old school colors, so I gave the image an extra point in the ratings. If I had gone to another school, the image, with the blues that just don't look right, would rate only an average 5. The name "Blues in the Dawn" is appropriate for one who is going home after a rough, disappointing night out. The brief calcula- tion time of 1-1/2 minutes kind of makes up for that bad night. But all these problems may be eliminated by viewing the image in finished form on the FOTD web site at: <http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html> Too many clouds prevailed here at Fractal Central on Friday, and the temperature of 63F 17C was too chilly for total comfort.
