FOTD 03-08-09 (The Worm Turns [6])
FOTD -- August 03, 2009 (Rating 6) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Don't be shocked if today's image seems strangely familiar. It's merely a near-repeat of yesterday's image, with only a little tweaking of the same color palette and an 0.02-degree double rotation from the Julia orientation. The name "The Worm Turns" refers to the tiny departure from the true Julia direction. The rating of a 6 is generous for a near-repeat. The result is a bit more interesting than yesterday's image, though still far below top-FOTD quality. But why all this obsession with quality, whatever fractal quality might be? Fractals are for enjoyment. And today's image can be enjoyed to the fullest only 56 seconds after the included parameter file starts running. Another way to see the image is to view it on the FOTD web site at: <http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html> Sunday started with light rain here at Fractal Central, but by mid-afternoon the sun appeared and the temperature reached 82F 28C, making the rest of the day quite pleasant. The fractal cats forgot their fractal roots when they got into a spat over the one remaining catnip rat. The next FOTD, not another repeat, will be posted in 24 hours. Until then, take care, and the asteroid that will eventually strike earth is already on the way.
