FOTD 15-08-09 (It Averages Out [5])
FOTD -- August 15, 2009 (Rating 5) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: There was no FOTD for August 14, and this FOTD is very brief. My alibi is that I have been very busy! Subtract Z^2.5 from Z^1.5 and you get a Mandeloid rotated 180 degrees and split apart on both its east and west sides. Today's image is located in one of the branches of its parent's West Valley, which has East Valley characteristics. I named the image "It Averages Out" because the two exponents of Z, 1.5 and 2.5, average out to 2. The rating of a 5 means I am not too impressed with the image. The calculation time of 1-1/4 minutes is within reason, but viewing the finished image on the FOTD web site at: <http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html> is even more reasonable. Thursday proved to be rather pleasant here at Fractal Central, with lots of sun, some puffy clouds, and a temperature of 82F 28C. The fractal cats must have enjoyed things, for they slept over 3 hours without stirring. Friday was a repeat, with a temperature of 84F 29C. My day was quite busy on Thursday. This is normal. It was incredibly busy on Friday, and this is not normal. If the next FOTD is late, you'll know the rush is not yet under control.
