FOTD -- August 06, 2005 (Rating 6) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: The brevity of today's discussion is a result of the continuing rush here at F.C. Today's fractal subtracts Z^1.01 from Z^2. The result shifts the Mandelbrot set to the east and splits the negative real axis. Today's image is located in the East Valley area of the large midget on the negative axis. I have named the image "Streamliner". This type of image always reminds me of a railroad. The glory days of the railroad are long past, but the word 'streamliner' still evokes feelings of the rails. We have seen this type of image many times before, which limits the rating to a 6. The render time of a little over 3 minutes is quite reasonable. Around 7pm it began thundering, but no storm arrived and the cats ended their day peacefully. Today is starting cloudy and a bit cooler. If all else goes well, it will be a better day for the cats.
