FOTD 02-08-10 (Whereto From Here [9.5])
FOTD -- August 02, 2010 (Rating 9.5) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's image uses only the first 50 or so colors in the color palette, yet rates an exceptional 9.5. I considered rating it at a 10, but a rating of a 10 is the absolute top, and if I had given a 10, there would be no higher rating available for an even better image. The image shows an order-17 minibrot lying on a filament in an anti-minibrot in a bit of debris in the interior of a half- morphed minibrot well out on the main spike of the parent fractal, which on the surface is a Mandelbrot set. The Seahorse Valley characteristics show that the chunk of debris lies in the Seahorse Valley area of the half-morphed minibrot. The calculation time of a mere 17 seconds is a bargain price to pay for a truly exceptional image. Viewing the finished image on the FOTD web site at: <http://www.Nahee.com/FOTD/> is also a real bargain. The Sunday weather turned out very nondescript here at Fractal Central, with lots of clouds, a little sun, a little rain, and a temperature of 79F 26C. The mighty fractal cats enjoyed every minute of it. My day was about as average as a day could be. The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours. Until then, take care, and be just a bit wiser every day. Very nice indeed !!!! This definitely deserves a high rating. You can always consider variations of the higher ratings, such as 9.89 or 9.992375. Maybe even something into the 10+ range.
