FOTD 24-05-09 (Primary Splat [No Rating])
FOTD -- May 24, 2009 (No Rating) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: With a calculation time of almost 8-1/2 minutes, today's image is too slow for what it is worth. But it's still worth a peek on the FOTD web site at: <http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html> The parent fractal is a kind of Mandeloid with a double-lobed main bay that came about when I combined various portions of (1/Z) and Z^(-13) and added (1/C). Today's scene is located rather deep on the western shore line of the north branch of the pseudo-Seahorse Valley of the parent. The first dozen or so color registers are set to solid black to give the effect of a minibrot hanging in endless space. The name "Primary Splat" can mean anything one wishes. With such a hasty yet slow image, I could not find a proper rating, so I simply let it go with no rating at all. Talk is cheap, but all curiosity may be satisfied and questions about the appearance of the image answered on the above mentioned web site. Light rain showers fell at New Fractal Central on Saturday, but at Old Fractal Central, 150 miles to the south, the weather was perfect, with blue skies and a temperature of 84F 29C. The fractal cats were lazy while I was away. The next FOTD will be posted in about 16 hours. Until then, take care, and unless you are a photon, you can't be in two places at the same time.
