I need to find a suitable sound synthesis library that serves as a SoundBlaster type replacement. There's a couple I'm looking at that might be suitable, but I haven't tried them out yet. -- Richard -- "The Direct3D Graphics Pipeline" free book <http://tinyurl.com/d3d-pipeline> The Terminals Wiki <http://terminals-wiki.org> The Computer Graphics Museum <http://computergraphicsmuseum.org> Legalize Adulthood! During installation using the Windows msi file, I received 4 error messages saying I was missing the following dll files: MSVCP140D.dll VCRUNTIME140D.dll VCRUNTIME140_1D.dll ucrtbased.dll Bill On Tue, Sep 3, 2024 at 11:46 AM Richard <legalize@xmission.com> wrote:

Oh, I may have accidentally uploaded the debug build. Yes, I had inadvertently uploaded the debug build instead of the release build, silly me. I've updated the release packages and provided a link to the Visual C++ runtime installers if you don't already have them on your machine. I'll see if I can automate this in the packages for the next release. managed to crash it after creating a disc fractal (the turtle at 4800x3600)... i had just typed V (something about view) when it went away, and if there were a DMP created, i could not find it... windows 11, 40 gig memory, "enough" disk space for days... among the other things that bother a bit: the display for the exe is very small on-screen, and my eyes are not getting better. would it be possible to resize that little box? windows resizer arrows appear, but nothing changes... lastly, for the moment anyway -- is there a way to import our original PAR and FRM files? i admit, i didn't spend a lot of time looking, but it'd be nice if that were possible. thanks. Ah, I see that I'm creating the .dmp file in the current directory, which will be in Program Files from the installer. I'll open a bug on that. Since this is pretty important for bug reports, I may create a 1.0.1 release :) right now. There was some past discussion that the view window ('v') was "always buggy", but when I've gone in there, it didn't crash.

Yes, this is on the roadmap. It sounds like you have a high DPI display; for now the best you can do is to select a larger video mode.
lastly, for the moment anyway -- is there a way to import our original PAR and FRM files? i admit, i didn't spend a lot of time looking, but it'd be nice if that were possible.
Yes, you can get there by directory browsing through the text screens and load your own files and you can use the command-line arguments to load them as well. It's still very much "DOS like" because that's what it still is -- a ported DOS program.
