Re: [Fractint] very large images in fractint
. Load your pet image, hit "B" key to get to PAR screne, look near bottom for: "the following is for generating images in pieces" It is intuitive, play with it. There is no limit (I think) to size, just how many pieces you can generate and if it is not too deep and takes too much time. Also it is described in the DOC file. .

There are also several "utility" applications around that will combine multiple .GIF files into a single image. Sincerely, P.N.L. ------------------------------------------------- http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/PNL_Fractals.html http://www.Nahee.com/Fractals/

Hi Paul N. Lee, I remember about such programs from 1994-1997 or so, but I don´t remember their names. And who knows if they still run in a DOS-Window of WinXP ?
Sincerely, P.N.L.

The really old ones may not work too well with today's OS, but there are several really useful ones that are more current: http://www.321slideshow.com/gif-joiner.htm http://www.amath.washington.edu/~jsk/giffo.html Etc... Most are for creating animations with multiple GIF files.

In the mid 90´s there were "special" programs to render fractals in small pieces .. I can´t remember their names but I may got them on old harddisks.. But those are PIA-3-mode-HDs and do not run on my actual PC... hmmmm...
Most are for creating animations with multiple GIF files.
ok, I´ll try them anyway.. Thank you Maryetta!
