Well, maybe now that the dust has settled, I can sneak this stuff in on the list. I will try to paste directly into this sending rather than attach as I have done. Others do it so I know it can be accomplished. Let me know if there is a problem. i'm getting problems, first one is; 'Oops. I couldn't understand the argument: c=z=1/pixel:' and the second one/par; Oops. I couldn't understand the argument: colors=000UDG<4>h_9kc7nh6<3>zz0<3>mm5jj6gg7<2>YYA<3>RMEQJGOGHMDIKAJMAK sammi

There are two entries in that post: a .par entry and a .frm entry. The par references fractint.frm, so presumably you don't need the .frm entry. Both entries were posted with extra line breaks in the attachment. The colors= entry spans multipline lines with a continuation character (\) at the end of each line, so my guess is that the additional empty lines confused fractint's parsing of the colors= argument. Try removing the extra line breaks. -- "The Direct3D Graphics Pipeline" -- DirectX 9 draft available for download <http://www.xmission.com/~legalize/book/download/index.html> Legalize Adulthood! <http://blogs.xmission.com/legalize/>

I am not sure why the lines decided to double-space in your posting, so I ask, what text editor did you use to copy from before doing the pasting into the email?? I tend to use the simple Microsoft Notepad program from the Windows-98 distribution (it is better than the updated Win-XP version). Also, I noticed that one of the last lines of the color values showed up on my email client (which is Thunderbird) as being quoted text, due to the ">" character as the first value on that line. It sometimes helps to keep the line length to a maximum of 70 characters. This can be accomplished with the SSTOOLS.INI file setting of MAXLINELENGTH=070, instead of letting it default to the 72 value (or setting it to something even higher). The following is what you posted, but without extra lines, a bit of rearranging the line length, and adding the "frm:" preceding the formula text. sf7f0019 { ; (c) David M Fisher ; Fractint Version 2004 Patchlevel 3 reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=fractint.frm formulaname=GenInvMand1_N function=flip/cabs/conj/cos passes=1 center-mag=0.158552/-0.350076/0.4714514 float=y maxiter=300 inside=maxiter outside=imag decomp=256 colors=000UDG<4>h_9kc7nh6<3>zz0<3>mm5jj6gg7<2>YYA<3>RMEQJGOGHMDIKAJ\ MAKOAM<6>hTIkWInZH<3>ziF<7>aODZMDWJD<3>K8C413000<3>EFAIIDLLG<4>ccWg\ fZkja<3>zyn<9>e`UcZSaWQ<3>UMH00000000053M<4>5Dc5Ff5Hj<3>5Px<3>5hc5m\ Z5rU5wP<4>5Zm5Ur5Px<3>5Ed5B`58W56R53M000000000b`c<4>lornru<9>YWPWUM\ VRI<3>OI5<3>YRD`TFbWH<3>kcPneRpgT<3>zpa<4>jdWgaVcZT<3>ROPOLOKJN<2>A\ AK000000A3M<5>O9dQAgSBj<3>`Fw<3>J_cEdZAjU5oP<4>3SH2OF2JE<3>00700000\ 0000A00<4>O00Q00T00<3>c00<10>L00J00H00<3>A00000000 } frm:GenInvMand1_N { ; Jm Collard-Richard c=z=1/pixel: z=fn1(z)*fn2(z)+fn3(fn4(c)) |z|<=4 } Sincerely, P.N.L. ------------------------------------------------- http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/PNL_Fractals.html http://www.Nahee.com/Fractals/
