FOTD -- March 14, 2007 (No Rating) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's image combines negative Z^(1.1) with 2 parts of Z^(2). The parent fractal is a Mandelbrot set that has split apart on its negative X-axis, revealing the railroad-switching-yard pattern typical of this area of such fractals. The scene of today's image is located in the East Valley of a tiny midget near the split-apart negative X-axis. Actually, it's not a bad image, worth probably a 6 or 7 as these switching-yard images go, but I have given it no rating and no name. I just didn't put enough effort into it to name or rate it. Brilliant warm sun and a high temperature of 68F 20C made the end of winter feel like the middle of spring here at Fractal Central on Tuesday. The fractal cats were quite unhappy how- ever. They went to the doctor this morning for their annual shots, and they have been irritable ever since they got back. My day was busier than average but still slower than it has been for the past month or so. The next FOTD is due in 24 hours, and it might actually be ready on time.
