Re: quaternion product correction (Russell Walsmith)
""Nice job! I'm intrigued that the Mandelbrot set's "head" flies off in this animation, in a fashion somewhat similar to the decapitation scenario in the DEW animation (mirrored at http://ixitol.com/html/videos.html)."" I am currently rendering it from an expanded (zoom out) perspective to see what flys in and out from it and where it goes, and get the best perspective. ""BTW, the value I of 1 that I gave for imag(p2) in the par was unfortunately insufficient to avoid clipping the transitional object at about real(p3) = 0.5. To provide ample clearance, it should be set at about imag(p2) = 2. Moreover, it might be fun to introduce p1 values, to cause the object to sort of pirouette as it morphs form T to C."" I am experimenting with the params to get it right. I am also looking at the pirouette about the y-axis (vertical). A VERY interesting feature has shown itself! I don't know if you are aware of it, but it is way wierd cool. You will see it in the final viddie. It is a good idea to combine the morph with the pirouette; it would have been a better idea if I had thought of it first ;) I think it will look like a gyroscope in precess, and stuff will be flying off from it from centrifugal force. And the weird thing will be seen also. So when I figure it all out, the final viddie will be a pirouette about the vertical axis, simultaneous with morph, and from a distance where it can all be seen. I will alert / post it when done, may take a week or so. JoTz
