Re: [Fractint] The Universal Fractal (PDM)
Albrecht, Do I understand correctly that your four images: nr.43, 44, 45,46 are all zooms into different places in the *same* parent fractal? If so -- wow!
What is Your favorite [image]? 45 & 46 are my favorites, but I like them all -- they all appear to have great possibilities for revealing further interesting patterns.
The last one is ... a maximum zoom - no deeper exploring is possible. I see that its magnification is: 3. 0e+011
If you were a glutton for punishment, I think you could zoom deeper if you used arbitrary precision. This setting: MATHTOLERANCE=-1.0/-1.0 might force arbitrary precision and allow deeper zooms -- but at much slower calculation speeds: I can't try the following test right now -- could you verify if this works for your image nr. 46? (Your last fractal looks like it was a fast one: 1:55.) If you do try this, I would recommend: - Select the smallest resolution possible (320x240 256 colors), This is to calculate as few pixels as possible -- to save time during the slow arbitrary precision zoom test. - 1st create image #46 in low resolution with your unchanged formula, then - Type the letter "g" to give a command string, then - Type: MATHTOLERANCE=-1.0/-1.0 and Enter. Your fractal may or may not calculate again with arbitrary precision. - A) If it recalculates -- when you see enough of your fractal to zoom into it, try a large amount of zoom to see if this test works. - B) If it does *not* recalculate -- just try a large amount of zoom. - Hal Lane ######################## # hallane@earthlink.net ####################### -----Original Message----- From: Fractint [mailto:fractint-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Albrecht Niekamp Sent: Sunday, January 3, 2016 9:55 AM To: Fractint and General Fractals Discussion <fractint@mailman.xmission.com> Subject: [Fractint] The Universal Fractal (PDM) The Universal Fractal ; What have I done? The complexity of this fractal is infinite, so it seems. Told you, there are about 20 different parent views. Each one with it´s own character, so the title seems justified. It not only contains Mandel parts, that´s normal for a complex fractal, but also Julia type parts, irregular parts and fractal parts I cannot identify, because they combine the other ingredients. The last one is of that type - a maximum zoom - no deeper exploring is possible. ; So today there are no less then 4 images because I felt they somehow belong together.
