FOTD 01-11-09 (High and Unmighty [No Rating])
FOTD -- November 01, 2009 (No Rating) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: A longer discussion appears on the philofractal list. The FOTD is late because of a surprise antiquing trip on Saturday and a flood of 'trick or treat' goblins Saturday evening. Today's image gets no rating because it's kind of an automatic thing -- a minibrot lying near a larger minibrot deep in the East Valley of the even larger minibrot on the main spike of the parent fractal, which on the surface is an everyday Mandelbrot set. The name "High and Unmighty" refers to the extreme magnitude of over 10^13, which makes the mathtolerance entry necessary; and also the not-so-mighty final result of all the calculating. We have seen this kind of thing countless times before, which brings the rating of the image so low that I dared not mention it. Instead, I let the image go with no rating at all. The calculation time of 5 minutes is a bit slow for such an everyday type of image. But salvation is at hand on the FOTD web site at: <http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html> where the finished image is waiting to be viewed at leisure. A sunny morning here at Fractal Central on Saturday gave way to an afternoon of clouds and rain. The temperature of 72F 22C was unseasonably warm however, and made the wet conditions not as unpleasant as they might have been. The fractal cats complained about the lack of afternoon sun, and curled up to sleep off their dis-satisfaction. My day was pleasant enough, even if a good part of it was spent looking at the old junk someone else threw out. The next FOTD will be posted in about 4 hours. At least, it is scheduled to be posted then. Whether it appears on time is another story. Until whenever, take care and don't worry about the small things. Seems like I am not the only person that never saw this posting come through. Later, P.N.L. ------------------------------------------------- http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/PNL_Fractals.html http://www.Nahee.com/Fractals/
