      Pretty pictures interest me but what gets me really going is something 
strange. Jim's remark about the disappearing circle was a trigger.

On my computer the circle shows clearly at all the VESA modes my video 
supports. Up to 1280X1024. Magnify portions of it and it remains clearly as 
a line of one pixel width up to magnifications above 10 e+12. There is 
something strange here also. I expected to run into some kind of a limit 
around 10 e+10. I don't remember exactly where the double precision limit 
is but this formula seems to keep working up to 10 e+16. Around 10 e+13 
other strange things happen. The line of single pixels turns into a line of 
square blocks. At one point the squares turn into rectangles and at another 
the line switches its direction 90 degrees.

My first thought was that Jim had one of the defective Intel processors. It 
doesn't seem that this could be true. I had one of them and never saw 
anything due to it in many fractals that I computed. It also seem that it 
can't be an integer artifact because floating point is turned on.

It computes so fast that it is easy to do a lot of exploring. Looks like a 
good candidate for an animation. As a starter I am including the parameters 
for several points I looked at. I never have been a proponent for attaching 
names to fractals but the one I called Starry is a good candidate for a 
simulation of a star field with a bunch of comets. My email is supposed to 
include text files in the message body but I don't know and have no way to 
tell if it recognizes a par extension as text.
