FOTD -- June 28, 2007 (Rating 6) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Due to a violent thunder-storm and power outage on Wednesday here at Fractal Central, today's FOTD is late and the discussion is brief. The image is a scene in the fractal that results when various negative portions of Z^(-1.5) and Z^(-6.5) are mixed together and (1/C) is added. Though I found the image almost instantly, I still consider it worth a rating of a 6. The name "A Harmless Scene" shows that I do not expect too much from it. The calculation time of a brief 47 seconds makes rendering the image from the included parameter file a breeze. But why not avoid the wind by viewing the image on the FOTD web site at: <http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html> The 99F 37C heat and high humidity here at Fractal Central on Wednesday were broken in the evening by a violent thunder-storm, which knocked down trees, put out the lights and flooded the fractal basement with an inch of water. The fractal cats did not like the crackling lightning and thunder at all, and ducked under the bed for the duration. Since I enjoy wild weather, I enjoyed the storm, but I fear it will be far less fun cleaning and drying the basement. If nothing else goes wrong, the next FOTD will appear on schedule.
