FOTD -- March 11, 2014 (Rating A-8.5,M-5) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: In today's image we began with yesterday's parent fractal and tweaked the exponent of Z from 3.001 to 3.01. Then, instead of checking the valley on the negative X-axis, we checked the valley on the positive X-axis. Today's image, which rates an exceptional art value of 8-1/2, is the result. The art rating is worth every half point, but the math aspect is so overworked that I could rate it ho higher than a modest 5. The name "Bits and Pieces" can mean whatever one wants it to mean. In today's image it refers to the semi-organized confetti scattered throughout the frame. The calculation time of 2 minutes will pass quickly enough once the brilliant colors become apparent. Visiting the web sites can cut the wait even faster. Check the finished image at: <http://www.emarketingiseasy.com/TESTS/FOTD/jim_muths_fotd.html> <http://www.Nahee.com/FOTD/> <http://user.xmission.com/~legalize/fractals/fotd/about.html> The official FOTD web site will be up to date very soon. Lots of sunshine and a high temperature of 64F 18C made today the most enjoyable day so far this year here at Fractal Central. The older fractal cat enjoyed the sunshine, while the younger continued her recovery. The humans wished they had more time to enjoy the sun. The next FOTD will be posted shortly. Until shortly arrives, take care, and I see that the second "Cosmos" series has hit the TV after a wait of over 30 years. I wonder if it will be just another plug for rationalism and the scientific method.
