In version 20.02.4 it is not necessary to have the evolver turned on to get the < f6 > screen to come up, and I was using the habitual key-strokes. With the evolver turned on, the version 20.02.5 evolver seems to be working all right. I'll continue using the new version, and report on any other suspected bugs I might find.

I have found a rather serious bug in the evolver feature of the float-only version 20.02.5 of Fractint. When the evolver feature is on the screen, striking < f6 > should bring up a screen that lets the user choose which parameters to change. But in the float-only version 20.02.5, striking < f6 > merely returns the user to the original image. This feature was working correctly in float-only version 20.02.4.
Have you turned the evolver mode on first?
I can add some additional code that will turn on the evolver if one of the function keys is pressed. This assumes that if you have pressed a function key you do indeed want to use the evolver.
