The 2 versions sounded the same to me. Stereo separation was there, but not very aggressive on my 2 logitec speaker PC system. Lots of bass distortion from both versions, no doubt due to 2" "woofers". I think using your 4 speaker set-up doesn't translate particularly well to 2 speakers? As with most online stuff, there seems to be a need to cater to the lowest common denominator, in this case straight stereo.
