I recommend viewing the animation's images at full size so you can't suspect your browser of doing averaging or dithering of the images...
Sequence of Images in Animation ------------------------------- 1. "Warped" 2. Without "3d"-like perspective distortion. 3. Without color compression. 4. Both warping & color compression disabled. 5. Complete spectrum of the map in the image.
I believe that the "4. Both warping & color compression disabled" image is the original 'unaltered' image. Hal, the dithering seems to be a problem of your system. Watched the animation on my 1920/1080p flatscreen which delivers an extremely sharp and brilliant image and I could not detect anything wrong. Perfect !! Are your monitor timings correct? As it´s a TV I use 60hz. The 4 Option IS the original version - the latest version of today improves the compression shutoff so the factor is 1.0 which means no change. Maybe I should prepare some images for a perspective demo with increasing distortion. What do you think? Thanks for your efforts! Petta
