FOTD -- August 08, 2005 (Rating 4) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Yesterday's image showed a fractal sun complete with sunspots. Today's image shows a minute part of the detail of one of those sunspots, at a point where the bits and pieces arrange them- selves into a vague spiral. The color palette and orientation are carried over from yesterday's image. The name "Sunspots" needs no explanation. The rating of a 4 shows my lack of enthusiasm for the image. The render time of under 2 minutes minimizes any possible waste of time. The finished image is available on the FOTD web site at: <http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html> A light thunder-shower Sunday morning passed harmlessly off, leading to a mostly sunny, mild afternoon. The cats must have approved, for they spent nearly 6 hours sleeping in the holly patch. Today is starting with clouds and a forecast of rain, but forecasted rain and actual rain are two different things, so I still have high hopes for a good day for the duo. For me the work continues to pile up. The time for the next FOTD hiatus might be getting close. The quality of the FOTD appears to be slipping, which is a sign that I lack the time to find worthy fractals. But at least for now, the next fractal will appear in 24 hours. Until then, take care, and if earth has been seeded with life from outer space, where did that life develop?
