Would anyone be able to recommend something in the way of a book on bitmap graphics for a guy who is a professional commercial artist making a very late transition to computer?
As 'traditional' artist he is probably an experienced sketcher. So software like Adobe Photoshop and a sketching tablet (like those from Wacom) are suitable for a painless transition. There are many tutorials on Photoshop on the Internet - a book on Photoshop will also be helpful. And of course one of these neat digital cameras ... (for doing collages, ...) A 3d-software (like Cinema4D for example) will also be interesting. Perhaps a less expensive demo-version will do the job ... ... to frighten him ;-) AND OF COURSE A FRACTAL GENERATOR! :-) let him do some rotations through the fractalus.com 'ifl' web ring. regards from Germany... -- Michael Weitzel ... all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy ...
