Albrecht,
Thanks, Hal. What you have not noticed is that in addition to the 3d like perspective distortion there are no steps in the coloring anymore.
Watch the Mandel Miracle... How about an antialllzed version?
Sure! It's calculating as I type this. But it will likely take a couple of days, as I always use Single Pass at 3k x 4k as part of my anti-aliasing process... Some good news is that I've ordered a new computer, so the possibility that I can calculate one Fractint image per CPU core looms tantalizingly close... I'll report on my experience with this. Tim, et al, thanks for the instructions and tips on how to get Fractint up and running on other computers and operating systems. I'll be trying this soon. - Hal Lane ######################## # hallane@earthlink.net ######################## -------------------------------------------------------- Author: Niekamp Date: 2015-01-11 10:09 -500 To: Fractint and General Fractals Discussion Subject: Re: [Fractint] New & Exciting Am 11.01.2015 um 11:34 schrieb Hal Lane:

/Your 20000W07.GIF looks to me like a delicate iron grill that you are looking through out to the sky -- with a turquoise jewel in the center./ Thanks, Hal. What you have not noticed is that in addition to the 3d like perspective distortion there are no steps in the coloring anymore. The colors change with every pixel !!. As far as I know this has NEVER been watched in Fractintint 16bit images This is made possible by the color compression which can be adapted to the iteration and bailout settings - principally the color changes with every iteration. To get the full aspect I use Sylvie Gallet´s fabulous 3d maps - now the full spectrum is available in a few lines, so even very samall objects show this effect. Watch the Mandel Miracle so it becomes clear. How about an antialllzed version?
