FOTD -- April 21, 2012 (Rating 7) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's image shows what happens in the East Valley of the large minibrot on the infinitely divided main stem of a Mandelbrot set that has been corrupted in its depths by Z^(2.1)+C energies. The railroad track effect is typical of fractals of this type in this area. This familiarity holds the rating to a modest but still worthy 7 The name "Scene" means that I could think of no better name to give the image. The calculation time of 1-5/6 minutes is a fair enough price to pay for the image. The completely rendered image is posted on the FOTD web site at: <http://www.crosscanpuzzles.com/Archives.html> The high-definition version is at: <http://www.emarketingiseasy.com/TESTS/FOTD/jim_muths_fotd.html> All the FOTD's are online at: <http://www.Nahee.com/FOTD/> The morning was fair enough here at Fractal Central, with lots of sun and a noontime temperature of 73F 23C. But dark clouds rolled in during the afternoon, bringing a cool wind from the north and occasional showers of rain. By evening a steady rain had set in and the temperature had fallen to a chilly 55F 13C. The fractal cats slept through most all of it, while the humans had an uneventful day. The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours. Until then, take care, and the latest discoveries of science might lead to the end of science.
