Seriously - haven't you been keeping up with tech news? Chips in the head is being done right now - like treatment for depression, parkinsons, etc. and other functional physical disabilities. A "calculating" chip integrated with normal brain matter is something we may see in the not too distant future. Yes - we may really be able to do fractals in our heads! I hope they don't run the chips on a MS OS....
