I'm attempting to model a diode in QuickBasic and compare the results
with the
free demo version of
TopSpice that I use to prototype small circuits .
Once this is reasonably
accurate I shall attempt to write a *.frm file to do the
same ; with extension to the
complex plane , for Fracint and WinFrac .
James Glieck's book illustrates a
cyclical chemical reaction with eddies of
various sizes and duration
.
A Scientific American
article discussed the possibility of chaotic chemical
behavior as being a fundamental
process of life and as being a better
description than just those
based upon the limited concepts of thermodynamics.

Subject: Re: [Fractint] Diode
Brings back memories - I'm an electronix tinkerer from way
back, nothing recent though, just computers etc.
"" Why attempt this ;
because a better , more interesting insight might be
obtained
.
Has anyone on this list delved into this
?""
If anyone can code the diode equation into something the
fractint formula parser can understand, and make a "diode" fractal, and it
loox cool enuf, I will try to animate it.
It seems that many natural
phenomenon, (like chemistry, my profession), can be modelled to some extent
with fractals, often leading to interesting and unexpected
results.
stay amazed!
