Alex Dukay was checking my server, and posted:
[When I clicked: emarketingiseasy.com,] all I saw was text: 'Coming Soon’ Thanks for checking my server! I'd forgotten that this message was there at the root/Home page.
All the active pages I have on my server are down in directories; then I post links to those pages & images. But I don't have a set of links or tabs on my Home page to get down to the material I have in my various directories, the way many sites do, since I have had a great variety of unrelated things on the server. You may remember my poorly formatted hosting of Jim Muth's Fractal of the Day for a while... When the late Paul N Lee first stopped hosting Jim's FOTDs on his server... http://www.nahee.com/FOTD/ [link no longer active] ...I put together these "quick and dirty" pages: http://www.emarketingiseasy.com/TESTS/FOTD/jim_muths_fotd.html I enjoyed exploring further into Jim's FOTD images and posting links to my fractal explorations along with his. Jim eventually created his own nicely-formatted FoTD pages -- now in an Archive: https://crosscanpuzzles.com/Archives.html ...but I miss Paul N Lee's thick sprinkling of links that he embedded into the pages he hosted for Jim. Paul did those links, right, Jim? I forgot to mention that in the online archive (at the new "hyperkitty" URL) of the Fractint list's posts...
https://mailman.xmission.com/hyperkitty/list/fractint@mailman.xmission.com/ ...that the default "Recent" Posts is too restrictive in the date range it shows. You'll need to click "All Threads" to see previous posts and links.
One other repository of versions of Jim's images I miss is Richard Thompson's: https://user.xmission.com/~legalize/fractals/fotd/about.html Rich used an automated process to extract Jim's parameter file and formula to: --------------- "...generate the image with a pixel size of 4800x3600. This image is then filtered down to 1600x1200 to give a final antialiased image with 3x oversampling." --------------- I loved the detail and smoothness of those images! As of 2022-11-03 his large antialiased images are no longer there. Presumably, he needed the disk space... - Hal Lane ######################## # hallane(a)earthlink.net ######################## -----Original Message----- From: alex dukay <alex.dukay@bell.net> Sent: Wednesday, November 2, 2022 10:18 PM To: Fractint and General Fractals Discussion <fractint@mailman.xmission.com> Subject: [Fractint] Re: My hacked server at emarketingiseasy.com has been certified as cleaned and is back online!
