. FAOTD -- March 21, 2007 (Rating=8) Fractal animation visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's animation is not a scene in the parent fractal; it is the parent fractal itself. It came into being when Jim subtracted Z^(-1.1) from Z^(1.1) and added straight C. (whatever that means). This is derived from FOTD_for_Mar_17_07. The unique effects are a result of calculating the image with the outside set to 'atan' and the inside set to 'bof61'. The animation is generated by varying the P4 parameter from -10 to +10 in steps of 0.02, giving 1001 frames for a 41 second cruise. Jim did not give the image a rating, but I will rate the animation a solid 8, equivalent to 3 diamonds as used on my site. And a fitting name: "Eye Candie". The morphing psychedelic sequence reminds me of some experiences many years ago ...... never mind. And it ends with a sequence of morphing polygons, 2->9 which I have NEVER seen before! The render time for the sequence at 1024x768 was a refreshingly short 6 hours and would try no one's patience. (I've included the files if you want) And the pre-calculated animation is available for download on the FAOTD web sites at: http://www.fractal-animation.net/ufvp.html http://www.fractal-animation.net/index.html Or the direct link for the 640x480 WMV file (7.6 meg): http://www.fractal-animation.net/vid/eyecandie.zip The weather recently here at fractal animation central has been spectacular classic Colorado sunny blue sky and warm dry breezes, perfect for a day hiking in the mountains or fun at the shooting range. My fractal white German Shepherd has recovered from dental nonsense and is back to himself. A true and loyal friend. Any time I want to play frisbee or throw a ball he is right there for me! According to fractal plans, the next FAOTD fractal will appear when I next get a good idea for one; presently I must "borrow" from Muth and others as I have run out of concepts. Until then, take care, and remember: The future is not written. There is no fate but what we make. Jaçk Of TraÐeZ .
