FOTD -- May 16, 2003 (Rating 7) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: On my machine, today's image from the May parent takes 52 minutes to render. But when I spent the 3/4 hour rendering it, the result was worth the effort, as the midget in the image is one of the most unusual I have yet encountered. The scene is located in the East Valley area of a distorted Mandeloid on the northeast edge of the prominent fan-shaped element of the parent fractal. I named the image "Rosebuds". A careful search will reveal the rosebuds in the chaotic region surrounding the midget. And that chaotic region is quite chaotic. Total chaos is sometimes seen around midgets; no chaos at all is sometimes seen. But the mixture of chaos and order that fills today's image is unusual indeed. The rating of 7 is earned honestly.
