According to the manual: "LOGMODE=fly/table Forces the use of the on-the-fly routine or the logarithm table for the calculation of log palettes. Not normally needed." The modification was made in the 19.3 version: "Added a pixel-at-a-time routine to calculate the LOGMAP values on the fly when memory is low or MAXITER > 32767. Use LOGMODE=fly to use with MAXITER < 32767. Note: RANGES still doesn't work with MAXITER > 32767."
