I tried what you said, below, but I get the same errors when I try to change the resolution. So! How do I run the MAKEFCFG.EXE?? Do I have to shell out to DOS, or just run it from where it is?
First make a backup copy of the FRACTINT.CFG file, which is located in your FractInt directory path. Then just double click the MAKEFCFG.EXE program. It should only take a second to run. It will rename the existing FRACTINT.CFG file to FRACTCFG.OLD before it tries to read your VESA Video BIOS. Then it will write a new file that will have only the 256 color modes starting with the F2 Key. If you want to have more video mode selections available to try out within FractInt, then run the same DOS program, but from the Run dialog box using the following: MAKEFCFG.EXE 16 true overwrite
I am going back and saving all the files as a .par file, to be READY when I can change the resolution!
In my opinion, it is much better than saving the GIF images. They take up less space, can easily be loaded again for rendering purposes, and may be used by more than one fractal program.
