Albrecht, All, Thanks for the MFR020F par file. I'm pretty sure that my DOS Fractint calculated it correctly (it's a red heart). I'm glad that your Fractint email list serve problems appear to be over. You said:

My understanding is that many email systems don't like long lines in their text. The email system automatically divides long lines into two or more pieces and places them onto separate lines. Fractint has a feature that allows controlling the length of the lines written when writing out a fractal's parameter file. I don't know whether any other fractal software has this feature. To control the line length when writing out parameter files in Fractint: - while viewing an image, - type <b> - type <down-arrow> to highlight the "Maximum line length" setting. - I set this to 55 and this length doesn't seem to bother email systems. - set any other parameters as needed - type the <Enter> key to write out the file. This long line length problem is most bothersome when a very long web address is cut in half and only the first half is treated as a link by the email system. (What the email system thinks is a link is usually underlined and colored blue.) When a "half-an-address" is clicked on, the intended web page *fails* to load. In these situations one can manually copy and paste the 2nd half of the web address onto the end of the 1st half of the address in your browser's address bar (address text window) to get the page to load. By the way, I also had to correct the name of the formula in the *parameter* definition to make the case of the letters exactly match the case of the letters in the formula definition: Multifractal_ni versus: multifractal_ni to get the parameter and formula file accepted by DOS Fractint. - Hal Lane ######################### # hallane@earthlink.net # #########################
