I also agree that in
an 'official release' the documentation
must match the
program.
I started updating
the V20.0 docs when I occasionally learned of
something that later
versions of Fractint did beyond
V20.0. However, I'm concerned that my merely editing
the
distributed docs
(which now include page numbers which
are no longer at the
top of the pages) doesn't
create anything
useful that can be merged into an
'official release'
of V20.03.0 docs. My copy of the docs
can still be viewed
in an editor but can no longer be
printed
correctly.
Has anyone else done any updates to their local copy of
the docs or
collected update information that could be
included in a
up-to-date version of the documentation?

The demo files also
run extremely rapidly
on my 400MHz
machine. I also suspect that
they are not doing
some things correctly but I
don't have any way
to know if their results are
correct or
not.
I feel that a name
change to something like Fractflo is
likely to be
confusing to many non-technical users.
Having
a
consistent name for the program is more important
that being
technically accurate about the program's
method of
calculation. The days when the 'integerness'
of Fractint was
critically important have passed into
nostalgia (at least
for me).
