James asked:
Can someone tell me where I can find the license for fractint? I know that it's "freeware", but I wanted to exact terms.
Another message qutes the license. The license is old and probably not very effective from a legal point of view, and doesn't qualify as an official open source license. We would love to change to a newer license such as GPL, but this would be a big effort, because we would have to track down everyone who ever contributed. If fractint/xfractint manages to continue into the future, the license could probably be changed when there is a major rewrite of the code. Tim
