Jonathan Osuch, bless him, took the ancient Winfract program (The Windows 3.1 port of fractint) that Bert Tyler wrote and merged it with the latest Fractint source. This is still very rough, and there are things that don't work. Winfract is located at http://www.fractint.org/ftp/experimental/Winfract.zip We'd appreciate it is some of of you fractint experts systematically looked at the program an let us know what is not working. Some things we have already noticed: 1. doesn't toggle to arbitrary precision 2. Keystrokes that involve ctrl keys don't work. 3. the Cellular type doesn't display in the window, although it seems to run. 4. The types that load a file, such as formula, lsys,.. cause a segfault. 5.The winfrac docs are hopelessly out of date. 6. Numerous menus need to be added or updated. Keep in mind we are not talking about improvbing Winfract at this point, just getting it to work right. It's a strange program, kind of a hybrid of a very early Windows programming effort by Bert and a port of the character-based fractint interface to Windows. But because you can see the DOS menus in Winfract, it's not so bad to use if you are familiar with the DOS. Tim
