[Fractint] I am not familiar with the term 'logarithmic ladder'...

      Jim,
 In your FOTD -- August 28, 2006, Anatomy of a Midget 
you say

     "I calculated the Z^sqrt(2)+C Mandeloid as it appears 
     414 levels down the logarithmic ladder..."

I am not familiar with the term 'logarithmic ladder' 
and would like to understand what it means and 
how it applies in the context of calculating fractal 
images.  

If you have previously explained or given a reference 
to this, would you please point me to it? 

Google was not helpful to me in this instance.
