I enjoy human foolishness and today we have a lot of it. The pledge of allegiance to the flag of the U.S.A. has been declared unconstitutional because it mentions God. I suppose the Declaration of Independence and Constitution are also unconstitutional because they also mention God. And our money is also unconstitutional because 'In God We Trust' is written on it.
I am old enough to have learned the pledge without the words " under God" and I personally still recite it that way. The point, it seems to me is, that the glory of this country is that it is a secular society. Anyone is entitled to whatever personal beliefs they want -- if someone wants to believe there are fairies in the bottom of their garden, so be it. But it is another thing to drag these things into the public arena and force other unwilling persons to bow down to them. George Priest geopriest@raincity.com "But why is it mere talk?
