Jim, A strange and rare new kind of fractal symmetry object has been found! (The following refers to a zoom into the parent image of this FOTD.) The following par illustrates a new kind of symmetry object that I've never seen before. Like a spiral, it goes on forever. If you zoom into the symmetry point at the center, you will NEVER reach a mandelbrot midget (or a dry lake). (But Fractint will display some weird artifacts if you zoom deeper than 5.E+8.) Note the two midgets on the x-axis near the left and right edges, and how they point towards each other. This I have seen several times before, but there has always been a symmetrical lake at the center. This time, there is no lake - just this point singularity! In all the MandelbrotMix images I've seen before, I've never encountered anything like this!
