Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:
Today's image uses only the first 50 or so colors in the color palette, yet rates an exceptional 9.5. I considered rating it at a 10, but a rating of a 10 is the absolute top, and if I had given a 10, there would be no higher rating available for an even better image.
The image shows an order-17 minibrot lying on a filament in an anti-minibrot in a bit of debris in the interior of a half- morphed minibrot well out on the main spike of the parent fractal, which on the surface is a Mandelbrot set. The Seahorse Valley characteristics show that the chunk of debris lies in the Seahorse Valley area of the half-morphed minibrot.
The calculation time of a mere 17 seconds is a bargain price to pay for a truly exceptional image. Viewing the finished image on the FOTD web site at:
is also a real bargain.
