Hi Jack, If you bought the software "ultra fractal", I can ensure you that you did not waste your money. I like fractint but I use also other software. There is of them one which is free and which resembles much ultra fractal it is "ChaosPro". Here three animations by Ron Barnett using uf4. Let me know if you can see them and if you like them. I find interesting very the reflexions of lights and the shades in the second animation. I know this is a fractint forum but also some people use ultrafractal. I recently purchased the current "animation" version with the hopes I could re-do some of my animations in 32 bit color, perhaps even faster since it would run in 32 bit windows and take full advantage of current hardware and software. With some tweaking, I can get it to read basic mandelbrot and julia fractint par files. However, rendering time is much SLOWER for a given image (especially deep ones) using UF on a P4-3GHz system, than it is for fractint on a P3-733 ! Anyone have a clue as to why this is and I just wasted $129 ?! .
