I connected and formatted an old disk to fat32, then copied Fractint onto it. Then I booted up under a Windows 98 startup disk and was able to access it in Dos mode. The effort paid off. I was able to generate the WOW par in three resolutions which I posted. I was able to set the parameter all the way up to 141. At 141 it generated a blank screen but at 140 it could generate an image. If I set it at 16 and tried different resolutions all the images were the same as this one only sharper or less sharp. http://rogerkaufman.mystarband.net/WOW.SF6.gif That is to say it didn't generate alternate images at different resolutions as it did running under XP. I suppose the different looking images could occur if the parameter said 16 but it was actually something different. So its a memory problem such that in XP there just isn't enough memory to allocate when the parameter is set to 100. At least not with any tweaking I did. http://rogerkaufman.mystarband.net/WOW_640x480.gif http://rogerkaufman.mystarband.net/WOW_800x600.gif http://rogerkaufman.mystarband.net/WOW_1280x1024.gif -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
