Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

The expression behind today's image combines 1.5 negative parts 
of Z^(-0.75) with 0.4 negative part of Z^(1.4), then adds 
straight C.  The parent fractal consists of an oblong main bay 
with sharp Mandelbrot characteristics only on its east side and 
patches of chaos scattered about its inside.

The whole fractal has filaments sprouting from it, with 
exceptionally large minibrots on the two most prominent 
filaments, which sprout from the northwest and southwest sides 
of the main bay.  Today's image is located in a vague 'elephant 
trunk' in the East Valley area of the southwest minibrot.

The rating of a 7 means the image is comfortably within the 
range worthy of being declared FOTD.  The name "Emerald 
Enterprise" refers to the emerald colors, which to me actually 
appear a bit washed out.

The rather slow calculation time of 13-1/2 minutes may be

The dry but cloudy skies here at Fractal Central on Monday held 
enough bright patches to make the day not too unpleasant.  The 
temperature of 59F 15C kept things reasonably comfortable.  The 
fractal cats, who enjoy comfort, spent the afternoon on their 
shelf, waiting for the full sun to break through.  It never did.

My day was totally average.  The work is slow and FL is still on 
a cleaning binge.  The next FOTD will be posted in its full 
glory in 24 hours.  Until then, take care, and how long will it 
be until the friendly alien visitors show that they are actually 
alien conquerors?
