A google of "gif animation avi" got me this page: http://www.bakker.org/cfm/graphics04.htm. There's a link to a program that says it converts (animated) GIFs to AVIs. I'm not on windows, so I can't test it. If I were, though, I'd probably do this: Find a nice image with fractint. Use a third party Fractint animation utility (freego will do color map rotations, I think). Combine the generated GIFs into an animated GIF. I know there are free utilities to do this on DOS/Windows, but it's been a long time. The GIMP can probably do it too. Use the above-mentioned utility to convert the animated GIF to an AVI. Hope this helps, Jonathan Kotta On 8/18/05, Margaret Willmer <margaret@duomus.org.uk> wrote:

First off, the Windows version does work when you use the latest copy of WinFract, which may be found at this location: http://www.Nahee.com/Software/
Thank you for this information, I now have the latest version and colour-cycling. I now have to fathom a way of saving that to .avi but I'll have a go and if I suceed I'll post a solution.
You could just maximize the window and fill the screen, then have all of your screen's images sent straight to a video recorder, such as VHS. This in turn could be used as input into a sophisticated video editor application for handling and creating various movie types.

Ah, yes that would work. I have a firewire card with video out. It would be nice to record it straight into Premiere though, or save it as an .avi. I'll work on it!!
Very many thanks for your replies
