Tony, As Jerome stated, Xfractint interacts more with XFree86 than it does Linux, since XFree86 is the layer that handles windowing and such. I have ran Xfractint with several different versions of Mandrake Linux (ML), and they all work fine. At one time, ML was based on Redhat Linux, but I don't think it is any more. I have an already-compiled version of Xfractint available on my Website, along with instructiions and hints-n-tips. Quite a few people have written to me saying that my Web page was very helpful. They've also reported that Xfractint works on several different flavors of Linux. (I need to get that page updated some day...) I have a spare machine, a P2/450 which I can eventually upgrade to a P3/800. Which version of Linux runs most optimally with XFractint? How would you rate Redhat Linux 8.0?
